Trust Automation is looking to add a DOCUMENT CONTROL SPECIALIST to its growing team. This is a full time position with benefits, located in San Luis Obispo, CA. The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Responsible for managing the Company's controlled documents according to regulatory, customer and company requirements. Edit, update and maintain documents and ensure accuracy, quality integrity, accessibility, and compliance with ISO 9001:2008, AS9100 and other regulatory and customer requirements. Assist the company to adhere to record retention policies, safeguard information and retrieve data more effectively. Ensure all users have the latest revision of appropriate documentation in a timely matter.


  • Maintain a comprehensive filing system and computer database for all hard copy and electronic documents (drawings, specifications, manufacturing plans, procedures, work instructions, etc.) necessary to define product configuration, engineering/quality requirements and control the manufacturing process.
  • Assist with research, implementation, training and auditing to maintain QMS ISO 9001:2008 standards and AS9100 certification
  • Assist in writing work instructions, and facilitating training of new procedures / processes
  • Process updated procedures for correct version control and log maintenance
  • Assist in the processing of ECO's, NCR's, CA's 
  • Manage obsolete documents to ensure outdated or unnecessary documents are properly archived in accordance with records retention schedules/standards
  • Coordinate, prepare and facilitate meetings and follow through on action items from meetings


  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field 
  • 1-3 years' experience maintaining a manual and electronic document control/document management system in a manufacturing organization
  • Highly proficient in MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, Access, Visio
  • Skilled in Photoshop, Adobe
  • Ability to organize work load and to manage a filing method and management techniques
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to coordinate multiple activities simultaneously
  • Experience working for a government contractor (military/defense) or medical device (FDA) manufacturer subject to ISO 9000/9001 standards and practices is an asset


  • This position requires successfully passing a background check, prior to the first day of employment
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
