Trust Automation is a fast growing company in San Luis Obsipo, CA. We are seeking a Quality Engineer to join our team.


This role drives quality engineering to ensure product quality targets/expectations are met. This is a hands-on position managing and maintaining all aspects of product realization from product design controls to material acquisition to product build/test to delivery to returns.  You will work directly with the Sr. Quality Assurance Manager and other members of the team to execute the company's Quality strategy. Requirements & Responsibilities

Activities include CAPA execution, complaint investigation, inspection and test method development, implementation of manufacturing process controls including process validation, supplier quality, and risk mitigation/management. Design and implement test plans and audits for products. Establish, define, implement, maintain, and report on quality assurance key performance measures and standards. Investigate non-conformances and consumer complaints, perform root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and monitor progress and improvements. Drive continuous improvement through communication and training on quality standards, requirements, and best practices. 

A successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or related discipline
  • Six Sigma Green-belt / Black-belt certification a plus
  • 5 years' QA/QC experience in regulated environment: AS9100, ISO 9001, QMS standards
  • Experienced in audits, risk assessment, test method development, and process validation
  • Strong in root cause analysis, electrical and mechanical problem solving
  • Comprehensive knowledge of assembly processes, lean manufacturing, Six Sigma and DMAIC techniques, and project management skills
  • Familiarity with statistics, data analysis and SPC procedures
  • Willing to spend "hands-on" time on the production floor to understand processes
  • Familiarity with ERP systems is a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, documentation and technical writing skills
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced and evolving organization
  • Confident, proactive character, ability to take the lead in challenging situations
