Trust Automation is a fast growing company in San Luis Obispo, CA. We are seeking an ENGINEERING PROGRAM MANAGER to join our team.

This role performs program management services for our control products, circuit boards and power supplies. You will work directly with the VP of Engineering and other members of the team to support the company's Program Management and Engineering strategy. Responsibilities & Requirements

  • Hands-on design and development of custom motion control and power conversion/management systems
  • Program Management of engineering activity: design and development of products, technical leadership/technical support to meet program objectives
  • Identification, tracking and mitigations of program technical, schedule, and budget risks
  • Point of contact for a program, handling customer/internal interaction and interface
  • Facilitates communication and disseminates information to project team and all pertinent stakeholders
  • Manage engineering and delivery schedule with the customer, sales, and internal manufacturing group; manage costs related to assigned programs
  • Manage assigned engineering resources based on cost, schedule, and resource loading cooperatively with the V.P. of Engineering, to accomplish project goals
  • Requirement derivation, tracking, and verification/validation for the program using Verification Tracking Matrix (VTM) approach. Ensure system engineering is being executed on the program
  • Management of released product for sustainment or issue resolution. This will be based on the issues level of required customer interaction, design review, new configuration development
  • Work cooperatively with Manufacturing Engineering during product release process
  • Travel to customer site as needed

A successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Technical skills highly desired: motion control system development experience (i.e. - PID), analog and digital circuit design experience, firmware/embedded systems design experience
  • Familiar with OrCAD or another schematic capture program, and SolidWorks or another 3D modeling program
  • PMP certification highly desired
  • 5+ years of successful experience in a senior engineering design role
  • 2 years of strong leadership, technical project/program management and change management
  • Effectively demonstrates ability to deliver on complex situations or problems
  • Creative and collaborative problem solving skills, driving "fast and right" results in matrixed environment
  • Conveys specific, observable, and/or measurable expectations for each assignment, and verifies understanding and agreement on deliverables and timeframes
  • Consistently makes timely decisions even in the face of complexity, balancing systematic analysis with decisiveness
  • Conveys information with clarity and directness, ensuring the message is understood across diverse teams
  • Demonstrable ability to contribute to development with hands-on engineering skills
