Trust Automation is a fast growing company in San Luis Obispo, CA. We are seeking an Electronics Repair Technician to join our team. 

Requirements & Responsibilities

  • Perform testing, repairs and refurbishment/upgrade on returned products and production fallout products
  • Simulate customer's issue, trouble-shoot to source, and repair or replace the device back to customers in a timely manner
  • Communicate status of testing with manager and other departments as necessary
  • Provide detailed symptom descriptions for failures uncovered during functional test and calibration
  • Collect and properly document product quality issues
  • Provide feedback on RMA process for continuous improvement and efficiency, with collaboration between Customer Service, Quality, and Materials departments
  • Evaluate quality of components to determine if product is good to restock or return to vendor
  • Record work performed, repair status, and transactions in ERP system as needed to preserve unit history and traceability

A successful candidate will have:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • AS degree in Electronics
  • 3-5 years of related experience with electronics repairing and testing
  • QA and product return experience
  • Experience troubleshooting digital and analog circuits down to component level
  • Soldering experience:  surface mount and through-hole desirable
  • Ability to verify assembly documentation accuracy, read engineering drawings etc.
  • Skilled with electronic test equipment; i.e. oscilloscope, various meters, function generators,  and power supplies
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Confident, and proactive character, ability to take the lead in challenging situations 
  • Must possess a sense of team work, respect for other's efforts and a "can-do attitude"
  • Exhibit proactive attitude towards upholding quality standards, with a drive for continuous improvement and a dedication to providing customer satisfaction
