Quality Assurance Technician

Job Summary:

  • This is a full time position for a seasoned employee within the Q.A. Department to work on receiving inspection, IR set-up & processing, RSP set-up & processing, procedure review as requested.  The position is responsible for documenting and communicating inspection results to the Quality Manager.
  • This position requires a working knowledge that will assist in the continual improvement of our ISO/AS9100 Quality Management System.

Overall Job Definition:

  • Processing of NCR's, RSP's and WO's.
  • Ability to perform AS9100 First Article Inspection Reports.
  • Perform and document periodic GMP inspections.
  • Assist in compiling quality and statistical data.
  • Assist Quality Manager with the set up to process any product recalls on parts.
  • Understand our part number structure to be able to enter new parts into the ERP system
  • Assist the Quality Manager to explore and develop tools and systems to improve document management in all of forms of media.
  • Perform in-process inspections as well as final inspections of products.
  • Participate in Trust's philosophy to provide quality products, provide excellent customer service and satisfaction, while maintaining a desirable employee work environment. Trust believes that the day to day production of product will maintain the foundation on which Trust Customer's rely.
  • Responsible for all military and commercial parts that require critical dimension inspections as well as any special process coating requirements.
  • Maintains calibration equipment and log. Responsible for identifying and gathering tools and equipment to send to calibration facility.

Additional Responsibilities

  1. Organizes material and completes writing assignment to meet company standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style and terminology.
  2. Reviews company documents and recommends revisions in scope, format and content.
  3. Processes change requests whenever a change relating to controlled documentation is needed.  Confers with document originators to resolve discrepancies and compiles required changes to documents. 
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  5. Ability to prioritize opportunities, overcome obstacles, obtain results, and perform accurate and complete QA inspections.
  6. Retain, organize, and maintain Quality Inspection records i.e. FAIR, incoming inspection reports, RSP's and all other inspection documentation required for product traceability.
  7. Maintain and control non-QA personnel use of inspection tools and equipment. 
  8. Other duties may be assigned and could become essential functions of this job.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  1. Two years minimum related experience and/or training in Quality Assurance; or equivalent combination of education and experience; ability to use Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft PowerPoint and various other computer software as needed.
  2. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
  3. Working knowledge of various measuring devices such as, calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, Faro Arm, etc.
  4. Familiar with overall Quality Assurance function and inspection concepts and processes.
  5. Ability to comprehend drawing specifications, packing slips, invoices, and other customer supplied data.

Working conditions are normal for an electronics assembly manufacturing environment. Follow all applicable policies and or procedures.
